Rosebud Restaurant
Rosebud Restaurant – I love a good Hong Kong Style Cafe. It’s super nostalgic for me since it reminds me of my early childhood years having lunch with my folks before going grocery shopping in Chinatown. Now the number of these cafe have slowly dwindled. I had saw a friend posted on Facebook of this restaurant with the amazing large portions. I totally caught my eye! This time, I didn’t even bother looking at the reviews but decided on just scrolling photos. I had committed with a girlfriend to have an early dinner there. I ordered the combo menu a choice of having a pesto salmon fillet and chicken fillet with a side of borscht soup and veggies to help balance the meal. I love how these restaurants also comes with a drink. When you go to these places – you’ll either pick HK style milk tea or the Lemon Tea. I chose the latter. Once the plate arrived – portion did not disappoint at all. As for taste, it was on point and beyond. The salmon was beyond my expectation. Although it wasn’t a high pink salmon but the taste and the nice pesto that was placed on top was very tasty. It was moist and the skin! The skin underneath was grilled to a wonderful crunch which added an amazing texture of experience. As for the chicken – was not overcooked and retained the moist interior but char taste on the grill. I thoroughly enjoyed it very much. Washing it down with some good lemon tea was the cherry on top for me. Top marks for bringing me back to memory lane and exceptional taste for a well priced meal. Comfort food at it’s best!
