Taqueria Playa Tropical Mexican Restaurant
Taqueria Playa Tropical Mexican Restaurant – Due to the COVID19 – all we can do it do take out and occasionally book ahead of time to dine in. I truly believe in supporting local businesses as much as possible. I’ve been craving for something different and I haven’t had a while. So Mexican it was for lunch. I had ordered the Alambre Burrito– a 11-inch flour tortilla stuffed with grilled chicken breast, green peppers, onion, and melted cheese. First impression visually – it was really huge! They really packed the burrito on ingredients. First bite – I clearly noticed that the ingredients were fresh and I appreciated that they actually grilled the Tortilla which gave off a nice char taste which blended with the Chicken and vegetables and refried beans. Their side sauces – their sour cream – which surprisingly wasn’t sour cream. It was nice velvety texture creamy taste which wasn’t tangy. I do enjoy their homemade hot sauce. There was two varieties. The green one – which I found to be pretty mellow – more of a parsley, lime with a hint of Jalapeno kick. Whereas their red sauce clearly had a nice spicy kick that really pairs well with the Burrito and buzz your tastebuds a bit. So if you’re too fond of the spice – I recommend the green sauce. But if you’re looking for some nice homemade chilli to spice up the meal – the red sauce is the way to go! I couldn’t finish the burrito – it was way too big for me – so I left it as a second meal. Be warned – since the meal is so filling; it may put you to sleep. So get ready for a nap after that.
