Ramen Gaoh
Ramen Gaoh – This is the sister restaurant of Gojiro’s Ramen in Vancouver Downtown. One of the fave ramen restaurants that has the perfect combination that I like in Ramen. The al dente thicker style ramen and the light but bold soup base which doesn’t leave me feeling over bloated or too thick which makes me feel like I over did it. I am a soup girl so I love to drink up all the soup – but some ramen’s thick soup base leaves me feeling very nauseating so I have to stop eating or finishing up the soup. I am a person who hates not finishing up food so it’s always been a challenge for me to stop. Ramen Gaoh’s soup reminds me of more of a soup base that focuses on spices that helps infused the soup more which makes it more intense but just as light. The focus on spices definitely is right up my alley since I the different flavours that spices can do in a dish. The noodles are the same which remains the reason why I enjoy Gojiro’s ramen. The cha chu is nice and soft with light flavour – a great combo of meat and fat which melts in your mouth. That’s what cha chu should be – not overly dry. The noodle texture helps to absorb and take in the flavours of the soup well. If I can’t go to Downtown for my ramen fix – this is my place to go!
